Vanderbilts starting left tackle Andrew Jelks out for season

Nothing seems to be going right for head coach Derek Mason and his Vanderbilt Commodores. After being ranked as the 121st best college football team by USA today, the Commodores have lost one of their best players for the season.

Starting left tackle Andrew Jelks suffered a knee injury during 11- on-11 drills in Wednesdays practice.

Jelks has 22 starts on the offensive line and is also one of the leaders in Vanderbilt locker room.

“I’m really disappointed for Andrew because he’s such a fine young man,” Mason said in a statement. “Andrew was having an excellent camp and was looking forward to having a big year.
