Vanderbilt-Fullerton game suspended midway through game

With Vanderbilt trailing Cal State Fullerton 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, play was suspended due to lightning and rain with two outs, Rhett Wiseman on third, and a 3-2 count to Zander Wiel.

The game will be continued Monday at 11:05 a.m. CT (ESPN2).

Should the Commodores lose this game, they will face elimination against the SEC regular season champion LSU Tigers on Tuesday, who have saved ace Alex Lange (11-0, 1.89 ERA) to face Phil Pfeifer (5-4, 4.09 ERA) or Walker Buehler (4-2, 2.97 ERA).

Although Vanderbilt ace Carson Fulmer threw his thirteenth quality start of the year, it proved to be unlucky as Vanderbilt’s offense went completely silent.
