Toronto Maple Leafs: Three Takeaways from Loss to the Rangers

In a series of unfortunate events, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost a game that they could have won. Connor Brown’s 15th goal of the season was good enough to put the Leafs up 1-0 for majority of the game, and things were looking bright for Toronto early on.

Now we all know how it goes when the Leafs have a lead in the third period. Of course, the Leafs eventually allowed J.T. Miller of the Rangers to tie the game midway through the third period. Heartbreaking.

And after an intense period of overtime, the Leafs eventually lost in the shootout, with Auston Matthews being the lone scorer in the skills competition.
