The long-awaited 2017 Portland Thorns schedule has arrived.
The NWSL season once again expands to the 24 match format we saw in 2014, with the Thorns playing three of their first four at Providence Park,
The Thorns will open the season on April 15 against the Orlando Pride at home, in a day-night doubleheader with the Timbers. The Thorns match will kick off at noon, and will be the first match aired on the league’s new television deal with Lifetime as the inaugural NWSL Game of the Week.
As in previous season, the schedule remains unbalanced, with Cascadian rival Seattle Reign FC making a lone appearance at Providence Park on May 6, while the Chicago Red Stars, Houston Dash, and Washington Spirit will make two appearances in the Rose City, while playing the Boston Breakers, FC Kansas City, and Seattle away twice.
