TAMPA — Mark Borowiecki had no choice but to follow through with the hit that had him ejected 100 seconds into Sunday’s game.
He was committed to finishing his check on Brian Boyle.
The play started when Boyle was fed a pass in the neutral zone. He missed it, however, and Borowiecki was already moving in on his target. Borowiecki was given a five-minute interference major and game misconduct.
“That’s a hit I’m going to make every time,” said Borowiecki. “I just tried to time it, didn’t get my hands up, didn’t make contact with his head.
