Fredrik Claesson was actually told he was getting his first NHL call up before the Senators' defensive debacle in Boston and before any of Ottawa's blue liners were "banged up" by the Bruins.
Binghamton coach Luke Richardson informed him Tuesday morning he had to pack his bags because he was heading to Canada after the B-Sens game Tuesday night.
"We got in pretty late," said Claesson, who arrived in the nation's capital with teammate Michael Kostka around 4:30 a.m. "But I'm happy to be here. It's a dream come true."
Claesson, a fifth-round Senators pick in 2011, had his best season as a North American sophomore two years ago when he was a plus-37 while scoring three goals and 29 points in 75 games for the B-Sens.
