Mohammed Usman is taking “full responsibility” for the failed drug test that will sideline him from active competition until April 2028.
On Friday, Combat Sports Anti-Doping and the UFC announced that Usman tested positive for an exogenous source of testosterone in an out-of-competition sample provided on Sept. 8. That anti-doping violation resulted in his removal from a proposed heavyweight clash against Valter Walker at UFC Fight Night 261 in Rio de Janeiro this past October. Because CSAD determined that Usman engaged in “deceptive conduct” to avoid sanctions, he was given an extended suspension of two years and six months.
