MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After three straight wins in the early going this season, the Middle Tennessee bats went quiet Friday night as they suffered a 9-1 defeat against Army West Point.
Nate Hoffmann drew the start and ate up five innings for the Blue Raiders. The senior righty gave up six hits but limited Army to just two runs and struck out four batters with no walks.
"Nate [Hoffmann] still isn't where I think he can be and where we saw him last year, but he competed well," head coach Jim McGuire said.
