DURHAM – Junior Garrett Johns had been selected to represent Duke at the 2022 NCAA Singles Championship from May 23-28 at the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex in Champaign, Ill.
Johns received an at-large bid to compete in the 64-player singles field. It is his first career selection, and he becomes Duke's first competitor at the event since Nicolas Alvarez in 2018.
The Atlanta, Ga., product served as the Blue Devils' top singles player this season, playing each of his dual matches on court one. He sports a 17-8 overall record and leads Duke with seven wins against ranked opponents.
